Newcastle Emlyn Ladies Hockey team drew in their match against Kington.
The keenly contested match was held over the weekend in Crymych, marking the second game of the season.
The home team were looking for a win after losing their opening game of the season and started strongly with several runs down both wings by Sara Patterson and Sioned Davies.
Sara Patterson scored the first goal of the game following excellent interplay between Mel Williams, Sioned Davies and Enfys Davies.
Despite impressive defensive efforts by Ellie Lloyd, Ffion Davies, Lois Davies, Lowri Llewellyn and Caryl-Haf Lloyd, Kington managed to even the score.
The second half showed equal strength from both teams as the defenders linked well with the midfield, with Mel Williams and Lois Davies routing the ball to the wings.
Sara Patterson's speed on the left wing created a 2v1 situation against the goalkeeper, but Sioned Davies narrowly missed a goal.
Midfielders of Emlyn effectively hampered Kington's tempo at several instances, easing the work for the defenders.
The team worked hard to maintain the drawn scoreline, eventually walking away with a point from a challenging game.
Rosie Hughes, who excelled in the centre field, received the player of the match.
Emily Barber, commended by the captains for her sterling performance towards the goal, was also awarded the player of the match.
The team expressed gratitude towards Gilfach Caravan Park for sponsoring the game.
They are looking forward to the next match against Pembroke.
