A special football match saw Maesglas take on Wales Veterans.

The clash, marking the 50th anniversary of Maesglas football club, took place at the King George V fields on July 27.

Since its inception in 1974, the Maesglas club celebrated numerous league victories, four league titles, and the fact they are six-time league cup winners, as well as a haul of fourteen other competition wins.

Adding yet another feather to their cap, goals from Maesglas' select James Evans and Justin Evans brought them a 2-0 win over the Welsh veterans.

Among the spectators was former Wales goalie, Neville Southall.

Memorable celebrations unfolded post-win with players and fans alike, featuring entertainment and a sports memorabilia auction.

Proceeds from the event went to Cardigan Cancer Care and the triumphant Maesglas club.
