West Wales rally ace James Williams will return to action at his home rally this weekend.
The Motorsport UK British Rally Championship returns on September 2 and 3 for Rali Ceredigion.
Williams missed the previous round in the championship in Northern Ireland to focus on his preparations for his home event.
The all-asphalt event features 14 stages across 100 miles of racing in Aberystwyth. This includes two runs through the short-sharp street stage on Saturday evening – attracting thousands of passionate rally fans.
Despite enduring a tough season so far behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta Rally2, the Orange Amps driver has eyes on the top prize in front of his home crowd.
“Rali Ceredigion was my highlight of the season last year,” said the driver from Newcastle Emlyn.
“The energy you get from competing on home soil with the home fans cheering you on can’t be beaten.
“I am looking forward to this one and have one goal in mind really – and that is to fight for the win.
“I am not focussing on the British Championship too much, that will take care of itself, I am looking at the number one spot. I am just focussing on the rally.
“I have been close to winning a rally outright on several occasions and I would just love to do that here – that is my only objective – go out enjoy the rally and really get into things quickly and throw our hat into the ring for the win.
In last year’s event, Williams finished third overall and second in the British Championship, whilst giving the Hyundai i20 Rally2 four-wheel-drive car its British debut.
This time around, the 24-year-old will once again get behind the wheel of a Hyundai once again, with the experienced Dai Roberts sat alongside in the co-driver’s seat.
“I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Hyundai once again – a car that I really gelled with last season, as it suits my driving style,” Williams said.
“It’s been a long two months out of the seat and I can’t wait get back in a car and put on a show in front of the Welsh fans.
“I am also delighted to welcome two new partners to the event as Nisa Ffosyffin and J.E Rees & Sons become my event partners.”
