CARDIGAN were unable to stand in the way of Lampeter in their push for promotion in Division Three West A as they went down 31-15 at home at the weekend.
Llyr Jones landed a first half penalty for Cardigan, but there were tries for Lampeter by Guto Ebsworth and David Lewis, both converted by Osian Jones alongside a penalty.
The Cardis scored tries though right winger Jack Taylor and No 8 Tom Taylor, one converted by scrum half Llyr Jones, in the second half but Lampeter stayed in control.
Tries from outside half Osian Jones and centre Thomas Rees-Jones, both converted by No 10 Jones, ensured Lampeter remained firmly in contention for a top two spot.
St Davids were 46-0 winners at home to Tregaron after scoring four first half tries through Aaron Foster, James Goldsmith, Adam Williams and Tom Reynolds to lead 26-0.
Adam Phillips also landed three conversions, before a second score from Reynolds and further tries by Aled Davies, Ben Joyce and Zac Morgan sealed a convincing win.
Aberaeron edged a 7-5 win against Neyland, who were unable to convert s try by prop Luke Griffiths-Dawes, whilst the Aber's try by Steffan Jones was majored by Rhodri Thomas.
Llangwm lost 13-27 against Haverfordwest, who scored tries through Lewis Tingay, Scott Candler, Sam Webber, Jack Clancy, with two conversions and a penalty by Owain Roberts.
At the top of the table, St Clears made it 16 wins from 16 matches with a 20-0 win at Llanybydder, whilst second-placed Laugharne beat Pembroke Dock Quins 20-0.
