ALED James took the Cardigan Open Squash Championship with a 3 sets to 2 win over home captain Richard Davies. Davies took an early lead winning the first two sets with some adventurous squash and unlikely winners but James fought his way back into the game with some stylish line and length play taking control of the game to edge the third, dominating the fourth and then powering forward into a long fifth set finally settled at 9 7.
In the plate competition Terry Jones won the honours in an entertaining match with Audrey Emmanuel.
