NEWCASTLE Emlyn slipped into the bottom three of the Welsh League Division Three after a 5-1 defeat against Lliswerry in Gwent.
The Reds were in contention until just before the break when midfielder Joe Howells put the homesters in front and second half strikes by Chris Pear (2), Max Peffy and Dan Edwards wrapped up the points.
Emlyn will be hoping for a change of luck this weekend when hosting Chepstow Town in the first round of the Welsh Cup.
