SEVEN days after narrowly missing out on a nine-darter Peter John was again in fine fettle in the Hope & Anchor Singles Darts League in Cardigan when reaching the final of the Singles Cricket for the fourth year on the bounce.
Cardigan-based John saw off the challenges of Stuart Robinson, Jamie Lewis and Steve Kinsella to reach the semi-final where he sprang a 4-2 win over Daryl Sheehan of Pembrokeshire. He lifted the trophy in 2011 but relinquished it to Jamie Lewis last time.
In this year’s final he will lock horns with another thrower in top form Sion Thomas of Newcastle Emlyn who is unbeaten in all competitions in the 2013-14 season.
On his way to the final Thomas narrowly beat Craig Pope 4-3 before overcoming Gwyneth Hughes and Paul ZZ 4-0 and at the semi-final stage won 4-2 against Rob Coverdale.
