IN the space of seven days this month Newcastle Emlyn of the Welsh League Division Three face tough opposition in the Welsh Cup and League Cup competitions.
The Reds who defeated Llanelli Town 4-1 in the first preliminary round of the Welsh Cup and overcame Division Two club Ely Rangers 1-0 at the second preliminary stage, are again at home in the first round proper when another Division Two side Chepstow Town provide the opposition at Parc Emlyn on October 12.
A week later the Teifisiders face a mammoth task in round two of the Welsh Cup. In the first round Emlyn sprang a 2-1 home win against Division Three rivals Pontypridd Town and on October 19 they host Division One leaders Goytre United.
Goytre are currently managed by former Manchester United, Swansea City and Cardiff City star Derek Brazil.
