Prior to the start of the campaign few neutrals would have considered a young Cardigan outfit as challengers for promotion in Division 4 West.
But four wins on the bounce, the latest a 16-3 success at Neyland have caused heads to turn.
The visitors were quick out of the blocks with forwards and backs combining from the word go, and took a six-point lead through two spot on penalties by outside half Michael Diggle.
The only try of the game came from a throw in by hooker Owen Jones. Picking up at the base of the scrum skipper and No. 8 Colin Davies made ground before offloading to thrower Jones, who went in for a superb score, the touchdown converted by Diggle.
Another Diggle penalty gave the Cardis a commanding lead at the end of the opening 40 minutes.
With slope advantage during the second period the homesters exerted pressure and probed with rolling kicks to the corners.
But despite waves of attacks Cardigan held firm thanks to superb tackling, and only conceded a penalty to run out worthy winners.
