As its contribution to Cardigan’s 900th anniversary celebrations in 2010, Opera Teifi will be taking a step into the past in more than one way.
With the society celebrating it’s own 21st birthday a decision was made to re-stage some of the society’s most popular past shows, and so this year we will be revisiting two of the shows performed by the society over the years.
The first of these will be the spring show “Difa Opera”.
With Cardigan enjoying a significantly older birthday than the society, it’s only appropriate that in this musical comedy we take a satirical look at the modern Wales before taking a voyage to the middle-ages to visit the Wales of our ancestors.
The show was especially commissioned for Opera Teifi. The libretto by Dafydd Wyn Jones sparkles with satirical humour, and the musical score, by Seimon Morris, carries lively echoes of modern and classical forms – thus promising something to suit everyone’s taste.
Tickets available now at Theatr Mwldan.
