Ceredigion AM Elin Jones has become shadow minister for the environment, planning and countryside following a reshuffle by Plaid Assembly leader Ieuan Wyn Jones.
Ms Jones has held the shadow position for economic development for several years.
"I am delighted with the move and look forward to my new portfolio, especially as the environment, planning and the countryside are areas very close to my heart and areas of vital importance for the future development of Ceredigion.
"I will continue to highlight the need to provide affordable homes for young local people. Another hotly contested planning issue locally, as we have witnessed in recent weeks is the erection of telecommunication masts and I will be further pursuing this matter at the Assembly. I will be pushing hard to ensure that Ceredigion is given every opportunity to develop as a sustainable community both economically and environmentally. We need to promote better waste management and the provision of a scheme that will introduce door-step recycling as a matter of urgency here in Ceredigion."
