Hardworking staff within the A&E Department at Bronglais General Hospital have been awarded the first Chairman’s Certificates of Commendation.
The certificates were awarded to the team at the Aberystwyth hospital, as well as other emergency units at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli; West Wales General Hospital, Carmarthen; and Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest; in recognition of the extraordinary efforts made during the high pressure winter period.
Hywel Dda NHS Trust Chairman Chris Martin said: "The efforts of all staff are greatly appreciated by the Trust and this is just one of several measures being taken to demonstrate to staff how much they are valued by the organisation.
"I was delighted to award one of the first certificates to the A&E team at Bronglais General Hospital as a small token of thanks for the work they do every day. It was particularly relevant to do this at the end of the winter period, which this year has seen an unusually high demand on hospital services."
More certificates will be awarded to teams and individuals across the Trust in the coming year. They will be presented to those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
