Cardigan’s 900th anniversary celebrations next year look set to peak with a summer festive week that will include a two-day fair in the centre of town.
Vernon Studt of Studt’s Fair has already agreed to bring fair rides into town for a two day ‘Big Weekend’ extravaganza from August 20-21.
The main shopping street will be closed to traffic and 2010 committee members hope that it will turn into a street party that will attract thousands of people.
The fair will just be amusement rides – no stalls. Committee members want town traders to benefit from the crowds.
On the Saturday night there will also be a huge fireworks display near the river and moves are being made to organise a star-studded rugby match.
"We arehoping that this will be a climax to a year of celebrations," said Aberteifi 2010 chairman Llwyd Edwards.
