A WOMAN accused of assaulting a police officer has been found not guilty.

Rosemary Linseele, 48, of Silian, appeared at Swansea Crown Court having been accused of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

It was alleged that she assaulted a female police officer on South Road in Aberystwyth on January 4 this year.

At a plea and trial preparation hearing in September, Linseele denied the offence and a trial was set for February.

The defendant returned to Swansea Crown Court, and the prosecution formally entered no evidence against her.

“You are free to go,” Judge Geraint Walters told Linseele as he entered a not guilty verdict.
