Cardigan Theatre is set to bring the 'fairy godmother of all pantomimes' to the stage this Christmas.

The theatre group will be performing Cinderella at Theatr Mwldan between December 21 and December 30.

The pantomime will feature all the traditional elements of the classic tale, including Cinderella's struggle to escape her life as a servant to her wicked stepmother and ugly sisters.

The story will follow her journey to the royal ball, where she hopes to win the heart of Prince Charming with the help of her fairy godmother and best friend Buttons.

The show will feature a mix of new and old songs, dance routines, jokes, audience participation, and slapstick comedy.

The cast includes Ruby Lemoine as Cinderella, Jonathon Preece as the Fairy Godmother, Tom Loveday as Prince Charming, and Kelly Lewis as Buttons.

Paul Robinson and Steve Green will play the Ugly Sisters, with Sarah Harris as Baroness Hardup, Emily Davies as Dandini, and Rhys Davies as King Charming.

Ms Lemoine said: "I’m thrilled to be cast as Cinderella in this year’s pantomime and I’m looking forward to bringing her to life on stage."

Cardigan Theatre has been producing pantomimes in the town since the late 1970s and has been performing at Theatr Mwldan since its inception.

Cardigan Theatre’s chairperson Rose Pembroke said: "Pantomime in Cardigan is such a Christmas tradition and something so many people look forward to seeing.

"It’s amazing to be a part of such a tradition which hopefully will be around for many years to come."

Tickets for the show are already on sale and selling fast, with the theatre encouraging people to book early to avoid disappointment.
