Children from a Newcastle Emlyn school honoured the fallen in a special ceremony.
Pupils from Ysgol Y Ddwylan visited the town’s Memorial Garden for The Act of Remembrance.
This was conducted in the presence of His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed, Sara Edwards.
Sponsored by the Newcastle Emlyn Royal British Legion Branch, the children were greeted by branch president Mike Beckingsale MBE, MC, and presented the Lord-Lieutenant with a bouquet of flowers.
Year 6 pupils, along with headteacher Siôn Mason-Evans and head of year Poppy Turnock, participated in the ceremony.
The event was also attended by RBL chaplain Rev Heulwen Evans of Holy Trinity, a legion standard bearer, and a bugler.
The children recited The Exhortation and Kohima Epitaph in both English and Welsh.
They also read out names from the memorial of the fallen from the First and Second World Wars before laying a wreath in their honour.
After the service, the children moved to Holy Trinity Church for a Q&A session with military veterans from various conflicts.
The children engaged the veterans with challenging questions, covering a range of topics from The Cold War to later conflicts including Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
