Ceredigion County Council has published its performance report for 2023-24.

The report highlights the council's achievements in various sectors, showcasing how well the services are meeting the needs of the community.

Among the key successes, the council exceeded its target by supporting 3,529 individuals with carers and community support, surpassing the target of 2,800.

The council also facilitated 63 'Warm Welcome Spaces' and foodbanks across the county, in partnership with Ceredigion Association Voluntary Organisations.

The council's leisure facilities and new Wellbeing Centre recorded 167,503 attendances for fitness programmes.

In education, the council successfully rolled out free school meals to all primary school pupils by September 2023.

The council also reported that 71.69 per cent of waste was reused, recycled, or composted, exceeding the national target of 64 per cent.

All schools and non-maintained settings inspected by Estyn did not require any follow-up action, and the council received an excellent Estyn inspection report for its education services.

The average number of working days taken to clear fly-tipping incidents was 2.42 days, meeting the target of five days.

Councillor Bryan Davies, leader of Ceredigion County Council, said: "These measures allow residents and stakeholders to see how we are performing, including in comparison to other local authorities in Wales.

"These are excellent results and show that we are performing well, despite the pressures on budgets and the increasing demands made on council services.

"Our efforts are largely due to the hard work and dedication of our staff who provide these services to our residents and customers."
