A new vicar has taken up post across a group of churches in Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
Reverend Wyn Maskell was recently licensed in St Mary's Cardigan. He will now begin his work in the Bro Teifi local ministry area.
Revd Maskell will be the dean and vicar with pastoral care for a group of churches including St Mary's Cardigan, St Thomas' St Dogmaels, St Pedrog Ferwig, Holy Cross Mwnt and St Cynllo Llangoedmor.
Revd Maskell was born and raised at Talog near Carmarthen. He became a licensed lay reader in 2013 and was a church organist for several years.
In 2017 he graduated from Glyndwr University, Wrexham with Bachelor of Arts with Honours in theology for discipleship and ministry.
Revd Maskell was ordained a part time priest in June 2018 and in September 2019 was appointed as the priest in charge in the Bro Aeron Mydr local ministry area with oversight of six churches – Ystrad Aeron, Dihewyd, Cilcennin, Trefilan, Llanerchaeron, Ciliau Aeron.
He was appointed local ministry area dean for Bro Teifi local ministry area in June 2024 and is also the rural life advisor for St David’s Diocese.
Revd Maskell’s is looking forward to meeting his congregations in a local ministry area that extends from Dinas and includes Newport and Nevern, the Aberporth area and Maordiefi and Cilgerran groups of churches.
