Lidl is looking to open in Lampeter after acquiring land.
The site on Carmarthen Road has been secured with plans to bring the first Lidl store to the Lampeter and Cwmann area.
This proposed establishment signifies a substantial multi-million pound investment, which, pending approval, could provide up to 40 new jobs.
The modern supermarket will include an in-store bakery, customer toilets, and baby-changing facilities.
The external premises will feature rapid electric vehicle charging points, covered bicycle parking, disabled and parent-and-child parking bays.
As Lidl prepares to submit its planning application to Carmarthenshire Council, it is keen on involving the community.
A public consultation is scheduled for October 9 from 3pm to 7pm at Canolfan Creuddyn on Pontfaen Road.
Residents are encouraged to attend and express their views on the proposed store.
Feedback can also be submitted by calling 0800 089 0361 or visiting the https://lampeter.newsite.lidl.co.uk website, where the full plans are available for viewing.
George Ledward, regional head of property at Lidl GB, said: "We’re excited to have secured this site, which we believe will bring significant benefits to the communities of Lampeter and Cwmann while revitalising an underutilised area of land.
"Our new store will offer the community access to our high-quality products at unbeatable value, as well as creating new jobs for local residents.
"We are in the early stages of developing our proposals and are committed to involving the local community from the outset to ensure their voices are heard, which is why we would like as many people as possible to attend our public consultation or share thoughts over the phone or online."
The initiative is part of Lidl's commitment to ensure every household across the country has access to quality, affordable produce as it continues to be the fastest-growing supermarket for the past 13 months.
