Drefach Felindre's annual horticultural and craft show proved a grand success.

The event, which took place on Saturday, September 14, was organised by Clwb Garddio Drefach Felindre and marked the 35th edition of the show.

Despite concerns that inclement weather might limit participation, the event attracted a record number of contributors.

Tables displayed more than 700 exhibits contributed by 98 adults and 24 children, making this year's show the largest in recent times.

The increase in classes for children saw the number of young exhibitors double, providing a promising outlook for future shows.

Though the gardening club organised the event, it welcomed entries from all.

Artwork contributions from Ysgol Penboyr further enhanced the vibrancy of the hall.

Councillor Hazel Evans, the day's president, had the task of judging photographs in two categories and selecting a single exhibit as 'The President's Choice'.

She also presented the cups and drew the raffle, with winners claiming their hampers.

The show, however, was not just about displays and competitions.
