A man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and common assault following an incident in a Pembrokeshire village.
David Rees, 62, has been charged and is due to appear in court on October 9 following the incident in St Dogmaels on September 16 which left one person with minor injuries.
Locals say armed police, dog units and a police helicopter descended on the scene.
A police update that evening said that the ‘unusual police presence’ was caused by an ‘isolated incident’ that had been ‘safely resolved’.
Two police patrol cars remained in the village late into the evening to reassure members of the public.
In an update issued on Wednesday (September 25), Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that they responded to reports of an assault in which the victim was injured.
Police then arrested and charged a man with being in possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and common assault in relation to the incident.
