A musical about the miners' strike of 1984/85, written by Chumbawamba's founding member, will be performed in Cardigan.
"We're Not Going Back" will take to the stage at Mwldan on Sunday, October 13, at 7.30pm.
This production, put together by Red Ladder Theatre Company and Unite the Union, focuses on the historic strike, which marks its 40th anniversary in 2024.
Set in early 1984, the musical tells the story of sisters Olive, Mary, and Isabel as their lives and relationships are altered by the strike.
The musical tackles the resilience of working communities and the impact on families with humour and song.
The show's writer and Chumbawamba's founding member, Boff Whalley, said: "I wrote 'We're Not Going Back' because Unite the Union had asked Red Ladder to create some kind of theatrical commemoration.
"My first thought was, 'yes, I’d love to write a musical about the strike'.
"But I didn’t want it to be about miners and cops fighting on picket lines.
"I wanted it to be about the women who embodied the spirit and passion of the times."
The show is suitable for ages 12+.
Tickets are on sale now at £15, or £14 for concessions.
They can be bought online through the Mwldan website or by calling the box office on 01239 621 200, open between 12pm and 8pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
