An Aberaeron restaurant has been named as the Restaurant of the Year in Wales.

Y Seler was crowned the overall winner at the Food Awards Wales 2024.

The restaurant also won the Restaurant of the Year in Mid Wales Award.

The awards ceremony, which was organised by Creative Oceanic, took place at The Coal Exchange Hotel in Cardiff on September 9.

The awards aim to celebrate the top culinary destinations in Wales and recognise the hard work of those who consistently provide the country with fresh products and unique delights.

The awards were based on public votes.

Michelle Thomas, from Y Seler, said: "These awards are incredibly special to us because they are driven by public votes.

"We're immensely proud of the hard work and passion our team brings every day, and we’re deeply thankful for the continued support of our local community.

"It’s also an honour to be among such talented individuals in the industry, and we extend our congratulations to all the other winners."

A spokesperson for the awards said: "It’s an honour for us to highlight the top food establishments and businesses that have stood out amongst the rest in the Welsh food industry."

Y Seler is also expanding its team and is looking for staff to join its kitchen team.

Llyr Thomas, from Y Seler, said: "If you're passionate about food and aspire to work with an award-winning team, we invite you to apply for one of the various open roles within our kitchen team."

Y Seler is also developing a new venue, Ty Glyn, which is set to open in spring 2025.
