A number of winners have been celebrated at the Rhydlewis Flower Show.

The event, organised by the Rhydlewis and District Gardening Club, took place on August 27.

Members presented a display of flowers and produce, which judges Bob and Rannveig Wallis evaluated.

The results were as follows:

1. Four white potatoes: 1st Janette Sharman, 2nd Gary Soltys.

2. Four coloured potatoes: 1st Gary Soltys, 2nd Janette Sharman.

3. Three beetroot: 1st Carrie Davis.

4. One marrow: 1st Sarah Taylor, 2nd Gary Soltys.

5. Four runner beans: 1st Janette Sharman, 2nd Erica Knight.

6. Four pods of peas: 1st Ann-Marie Dewhurst, 2nd Carrie Davies.

7. Three onions: 1st Janette Sharman, 2nd Jim Milton.

8. Five shallots: 1st Jim Milton.

9. Four tomatoes: 1st Gary Soltys, 2nd Marj Fogg.

10. Five cherry tomatoes: 1st Joy Wason, 2nd John Piggott.

11. One cucumber: 1st Joy Wason, 2nd Janette Sharman.

There were no entries in the three carrots, three pears, vase of three roses, seascape and one jar of honey categories and no award in the three courgettes category.
