A theatre in Cardigan is set to host an interactive dance show.
Small World Theatre is hosting another National Rural Dance Initiative touring performance on Sunday, September 29.
The show is supported by the Arts Council of Wales’ Night Out scheme, making its way to Cardigan.
The performance invites the audience to help Jack, a character who loves musicals and pantomimes, fulfil his dancing dreams.
The show, performed by three dancers and one musician, intertwines musical theatre, ballroom, and contemporary dance.
Familiar party games like musical chairs and ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’ feature prominently, providing ample opportunities for audience participation.
The event culminates in a family disco, welcoming over-fives and their families to join in.
The performance is also suitable for older neurodiverse audiences who may wish to try some moves on the dance floor.
SLiDE, a community of disabled and non-disabled dancers and musicians, is the company behind the show.
The company is known for creating dance performances in various movement styles, presented in a relaxed format, with unique ways for the audience to engage and interact with the performers.
The company has been commissioned to create and present performances across London and the Southeast, including Liberty Festival, Turner Contemporary, and the Southbank Centre.
People can book tickets for the show through Small World’s website, where details about the post-show workshop are also available.
The workshop offers a chance to explore the performance’s colourful props, try the dance games, and join in the fun.
Doors and the bar open at 2pm, with the performance starting at 2.30pm, followed by a disco.
Tickets are priced at £12, with under-16s at £8, and the workshop entry is £5.
