Here’s a round-up of the cases.

PAUL CORBETT, 64, of Llanybydder, was caught drink-driving on the A475 at Lampeter.

Corbett recorded having 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when breathalysed on August 16. The legal limit is 35.

He pleaded guilty at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on September 4.

Corbett was banned from driving for 18 months, and must pay a fine of £120, £85 in costs and a £48 surcharge.

DANIEL WILLIAMS, 36, of Croes-lan, got behind the wheel whilst high on cocaine.

Williams was driving a Volkswagen Crafter van on the A486 at Llandysul on February 28. When tested, he recorded having 35 micrograms of cocaine per litre (µg/L) of blood.

The legal limit – to exclude accidental exposure – is 10µg/L.

He pleaded guilty, and was disqualified from driving for 12 months at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on September 5.

Williams was fined £80.

BRANDON JONES, 30, of Pine Close in Ripley, Derbyshire, was clocked doing more than 50mph in a 30mph limit.

Jones was driving on the A485 at Llanllwni on January 14. He was caught by a manned speed camera doing 52mph whilst a 30mph local traffic order was in place.

The case came before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on August 28, where Jones had six points added to his licence.

He was ordered to pay a £633 fine, a surcharge of £253 and costs of £110.

Jones avoided a driving ban due to exceptional hardship and the financial impact it would have would have on members of his family.
