An acclaimed organist will perform in Cardigan as a fundraiser for repairs on a church organ.
Jeffrey Howard, a well-regarded conductor and organist, will host a performance at St Mary’s Church on September 14.
The event aims to raise funds needed for the refurbishment of the church's organ that was stripped down and overhauled last Autumn when dry rot was discovered.
Born in Cardiff, Mr Howard is a former student of the University of Wales College in the city and the Royal Academy of Music in London.
He boasts of a diverse career, having collaborated with internationally renowned singers such as Sir Bryn Terfel, Sir Willard White, Dennis O’Neill, and Katherine Jenkins.
The accomplished musician frequently performs as the keyboard soloist for composer Karl Jenkins, and has arranged music for leading orchestras.
In addition to his work as a vocal coach, choral conductor, and piano soloist, Mr Howard has previously performed at the Welsh Proms at St Davids Hall with the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra.
Recognised for his contribution to music in Wales, he received the Joseph Parry Award and was installed as a member of the Gorsedd at the 2023 National Eisteddfod.
The concert, featuring pieces from Bach, Vivaldi, Widor, Elgar and Cochereau among others, will start at 7.30pm with tickets priced at £10.
Children and students enter for free.
A mid-performance interval is scheduled.
