The Sherman Theatre will be bringing a show to Cardigan.
On September 17 at 7.30pm, they are set to stage their heart-wrenching production of "Iphigenia Yn Splott" at Mwldan.
The tragic tale, originally based on a Greek myth, is a poignant portrayal of the disaffection felt by those left behind in the cost of living crisis.
Effie, who takes on the role of Iphigenia, is a natural storyteller.
Her riveting monologue guides us through the world and tragedies that unfold in Iphigenia's life.
It's a narrative that remains tragically relevant, the original story having been set in austerity Britain. It is a reworked version of the Greek myth of Iphigenia but has been transported to take place on the streets of Cardiff.
This potent performance has already garnered rave reviews in its original form and now returns with a new Welsh language production.
English captions will be provided throughout, ensuring its powerful messages are universally understood.
Alice Eklund meticulously directs this Welsh translation, breathing new life into a classic story filled with raw emotion, empathy, compassion and heart.
This tale ultimately serves as a wake-up call and is praised as the play society needs in these trying times.
Grab your tickets now for £15 or £12 through the Mwldan website or call the box office at 01239 621 200 between 12pm - 8pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
