A fundraiser at a local pub raised £1000 for the 3rd Cardigan Sea Scout Group last Sunday (August 4).
The event at Saddlers Arms included a live singing performance, karaoke, a raffle and a man who was willing to shave his hair off for charity.
Prizes for the raffle were donated by friends, relatives of the scouts and a range of local businesses.
Manager of the third Cardigan Sea Scout Group, Yve O’Neill posted on Facebook: “A massive shout to the Saddlers Arms, their customers, management and staff who pulled all the plugs out to support 3rd Cardigan Sea Scout Group!
“Also, to those that gave their time and their equipment to help raise the funds! They say that it is the people that have the least who give the most and that is certainly true.”
The fundraiser began at 1pm with a performance from Milford Haven singer Paul Kelly.
A local named Joe White said he would shave his long dreadlocks off if £1000 was raised and by 2:45pm, his hair was gone.
Karaoke began at 3pm with Sarah Harris from SH Entertainments, the raffle commenced at 5:30pm and the event finished at 6pm.
