A MAN accused of a series of domestic violence charges has pleaded guilty on the day of trial.
Kieran Balmont, now 21, of Maes Cader in Pencader, was due to stand trial at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday accused of eight offences against the same victim.
Balmont was accused of three offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to alleged incidents last year in June, on August 3, and over September 26 and 27.
He was also charged with strangulation and making threats to kill, as well as two charges of theft – relating to the woman’s phone and bank card. These alleged offences were said to have taken place over September 26 and 27.

The court heard that the victim in the case was 17 years old.
Balmont had pleaded not guilty to each of the charges, and was remanded in to custody. His trial was set to begin on July 31.
However, on the day of trial, the defendant switched his pleas.
Balmont will return to court to be sentenced on September 2.
