Save the Teifi has unveiled their three-day "Source to Sea" event between August 9 to 11, 2024, to support the River Teifi's conservation.
The event offers participants the opportunity to walk, cycle, and paddle from Teifi Pools to Poppit Sands, aiming to celebrate the river's ecological importance and raise necessary funds for its preservation.
The relay commences with a walk from Teifi Pools to Lampeter on August 9, making a lunch pit-stop at Tregaron before reaching an evening get-together at St Davids Trinity University.
On August 10, attendees will cycle from Lampeter to Newcastle Emlyn, taking a break in Llandysul and finishing with an early evening gathering at the Riverside Café. The final day, August 11, has options to either paddle or stroll from Llechryd after a brief halt at Cenarth, concluding at Poppit Sands.
Participants will gather water from the river's source to carry to the sea.
This symbolic act aims to emphasise the critical importance of clean waterways.
Each day will end with entertainment to encourage community spirit and environmental awareness.
Individuals may register for any component of the event via the Save the Teifi website, with a proposed donation of £10 to help cover event costs.
There are also accommodation choices in Lampeter, Newcastle Emlyn, and Cardigan.
Save the Teifi is dedicated to the protection and restoration of the River Teifi's health and biodiversity.
