A Ceredigion hospice has announced the company that will be doing renovation work on its living well centre.

Plas Antaron, a former hotel on the outskirts of Aberystwyth, will soon be transformed into HAHAV's new Living Well centre.

Starting in July, the refurbishment will be carried out in phases, with LEB Construction Ltd tasked with the project. The company will start with structural and roofing works.

These are expected to conclude by the end of the year, to support the art room development.

Gwerfyl Pierce Jones, HAHAV chairperson, said: "We have very ambitious plans for HAHAV Ceredigion as we aim to meet the needs of residents across Ceredigion.

"Our aspiration is to develop a centre that will cater for various needs and in our discussions with LEB they appreciate the journey we are on and are keen to play a part in delivering a first rate resource."

The future phases of the project are dependent on the success of a major fundraising campaign, which hopes to raise £200,000 over the next 18 months.

Luke Baker, LEB managing director, said: "As a Ceredigion based company we are keen to work with local organisations and help them achieve and meet their aspirations.

"We are on a journey with HAHAV and can’t wait to get started."

Stuart Ball, Aberystwyth based architectural designer, and project manager for the work at Plas Antaron, said: "We can’t wait now to get started."

Staff and activities currently held at Plas Antaron will move to Morlan in the centre of Aberystwyth.
