A Library of Things is set to open in Newcastle Emlyn.
This concept operates as a library, but instead of books, allows residents to borrow items they might only need occasionally.
This system helps cut costs and reduces environmental impact.
The Newcastle Emlyn facility is now open to receive donated items.
The movement is already popular across Wales, with several similar initiatives running, including in Carmarthen.
More donations are welcomed for Newcastle Emlyn's library, and residents can arrange drop-off or collection by contacting the team.
Elizabeth Leyden from Cwm Cou said: "I am really delighted to see a Library of Things coming to our community alongside a community fridge and the existing Repair Cafe.
"This is a great way for us to come together to share and reuse resources and cut down on waste."
The most popular items loaned in Wales are pressure washers, carpet cleaners, and gazebos.
However, the Newcastle Emlyn team is eager to hear from donors with other items in good condition to contribute.
Jane Mansfield, a volunteer on the project, said: "Drills, hedgecutters, camping equipment, anything that you might use only use occasionally, we may be interested."
Each donated item will be subject to a strict maintenance programme to ensure durability.
When purchasing new items for the library, availability of spare parts will be a key factor.
The Library of Things team will have a presence at the Music in the Park event in Newcastle Emlyn on July 27, from 1pm to 8pm.
