A MAN has admitted growing cannabis and bypassing the electricity at an address in Pencader.

Paul Newport, 50, of Maescader, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court charged with three offences.

It was alleged that he was growing 14 cannabis plants at his home address on April 27, 2022. He was also accused of abstracting electricity without authority and possession of cannabis – both on that same date.

He pleaded guilty to all offences on May 21.

The case was sent to Swansea Crown Court and a pre-sentence report was ordered. Newport was re-admitted to bail, and will be sentenced on June 11.
