There will be a special movie filmed in New Quay later this year.

Groucho Arts, a production company known for promoting new talent and driving diversity in cinema, is seeking extras for their upcoming film.

The drama-comedy, 'Life and Flowers and Other Things', will be filmed in October in the town.

The plot centres around a grumpy music composer named Eli Blauman who, after a drastic event, rediscovers happiness, while navigating upheavals at his residence, Spencer Manor.

The production company has a strong ethos of lifting barriers in gender, race and identity within the film industry.

Their newest talent is writer/director Pelayo De Lario.

The prodigy has already directed two films and is eager to present a narrative that explores life's complexities, mourning and parenthood in the scenic town of New Quay.

Groucho Arts isn’t merely filming in New Quay, but aims to engage residents in the project.

They believe this will lend authenticity to the film and contribute to the rich culture of the town.

Not only are day players, secondary actors and extras required, but they are also looking for camera assistants, 2nd AD assistants, costume assistants, production design assistants, runners and drivers.

Anyone who is interested should send a CV and a photo to: contact@grouchoarts.com.
