NOT again!
That is the response of Aberporth residents to news that a road through the village has closed for three days this week.
Ceredigion County Council have confirmed that Ffordd yr Odyn will be shut from today, Tuesday, May 21, following a request by Morrisons Utility Services on behalf of Welsh Water for the installation of a new water connection.
This has prompted online speculation that the Aberporth road may be ‘the most closed road in Ceredigion’.
Local county councillor Gethin Davies admitted: “It is getting a bit ridiculous.
“That road has only just been re-surfaced, now a section of it is going to have to be dug up again.
“It has been frequently closed for utility companies to carry out work in the past and in my opinion the whole business could have been handled a lot better.
“It’s going to be particularly inconvenient for a local farm whose tractors will now have to make a major detour of several miles at a time when they are having to pull out the stops to get the silage in following all the wet weather we’ve had.”
