A Cardigan brewery has been praised for its produce - with five awards.

Bragdy Aberteifi, known as Cardigan Brewery, is housed below the refurbished former Brynhoffnant Inn, now 'Y Bryn a'r Bragdy.'

Headed by head brewer, Tom Newman, a highly-regarded beer sommelier, the brewery has prioritised quality, leading to an impressive collection of recognitions this year.

Tripling its capacity, the brewery has started 2024 with five wins.

The popular beer rating app, Untappd, gave a Bronze Medal to the brewery's Golden Ale, 'Sunny Dai' in March.

The Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA) presented four more awards to the Cardigan Brewery for their premium range of beverages.

'Dai Cockles' won a Silver Award in the Cask British Best Bitter class, 'Dai Bach' took Silver in the Keg 'Session' Lager section, 'Hazy Dai' bagged another Silver in Keg Session Pale Ale class, and 'Dai Mawr' was awarded Bronze in the Bottle and Can Premium Lager's section.

Brewery manager David Coviello displayed immense pride in their achievements saying: "We are extremely pleased to be recognised with these awards.

"It is a reflection of the extremely high standards that we strive to maintain – in quality of ingredients, diligence and consistency, especially from production to customer service".

He confirmed that the increasing demand for their craft beers and lagers in West and South Wales was well-met, and that they continue to see growing interest from outside regions.

The brewery's spirits and beers are available for purchase in a number of shops, pubs and their website.

Brewery tours are also available on request.
