THESE three men have had their cases heard in court recently.

The defendants were charged with drug-driving, obstructing police officers, and persistently making use of a public communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety.

Their cases were heard at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court.

Here’s a round-up of the cases.

LAWRENCE JONES, 38, of Parc Meiros in Drefach Felindre, was caught drug-driving.

Jones was driving a Citroen Dispatch on Cambrian Street in Drefach Felindre on December 4. When tested, he recorded having 8 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre (µg/L) of blood.

The legal limit – to exclude accidental exposure – is 2µg/L.

He pleaded guilty at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on April 17.

Jones was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £48 surcharge. He was also banned from driving for a year.

HARRY WAKEMAN, 63, of Cwm Cou, has been sentenced to a conditional discharge.

Wakeman was charged with persistently making use of a public communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety on March 29.

He pleaded guilty at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court on April 17.

Wakeman received a 12-month conditional discharge. He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £26 surcharge.

RICHARD BROSNAN, 55, of The Beeches in Llandysul, was charged with obstructing two police officers at an address in Llandysul on March 27.

Brosnan pleaded guilty at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court on April 18.

He was fined £40 and must pay £85 in costs and a £16 surcharge.
