A new centre has opened in Llandysul, with the aim of boosting the Welsh tech sector.

The Delineate Global Operations & Technology Centre is an addition to the growing tech sector in West Wales.

The centre is a major boost for the economy, providing numerous opportunities for employment and economic growth.

Delineate is a research technology company which offers unique ways of gathering consumer insights and boasts major food and drink brands among its clientele.

The company's location in Llandysul is part of the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns initiative, managed by Cynnal y Cardi in Ceredigion County Council.

The scheme aids capital investment in the regeneration of towns across Mid Wales.

The new Llandysul office will house 50 employees working across business roles, using innovative methods to conduct surveys that aid brands in understanding their customers and making informed business decisions.

The selection of Llandysul by businesses like Delineate is a testament to the growth and excellence of the tech industry in Wales.

The presence of superfast broadband in the area has served in attracting such high-value industries, providing fast and reliable connectivity essential to business capabilities.

Ceredigion County Council’s ambition to offer opportunities to the locality's young talent aligns with Delineate’s business strategy.

The company intends to implement a ‘Wales first’ recruitment policy, sourcing new hires predominantly from within Wales, thereby giving more opportunities to Welsh speakers.

Approximately 60 per cent of Delineate’s team are Welsh speakers, with language learning opportunities presented to the non-Welsh speakers.

The council’s strategy and Delineate's policy are in tune with the objectives of ARFOR, a Welsh Government funded programme aiming to support the Welsh language through entrepreneurship and economic development.

A council spokesperson said: "We welcome the news of another innovative business located in Ceredigion.

"As a county with two universities and work underway to further develop our digital infrastructure, Ceredigion offers opportunity to businesses like Delineate.

"It also aligns with our Economic Strategy to work collaboratively towards achieving strong, sustainable and more resilient economic growth.

"Not only is this good news for businesses, but also for young people in the area who, without these growth opportunities, could face very different futures.
