It was alleged that Jones was driving a Nissan Qashqai without due care and attention when he crashed, causing a woman to be seriously injured.
He pleaded guilty to the offence at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court on February 21.
Jones was fined £400, and must also pay £85 in costs and a £160 surcharge.
He was banned from driving for 12 months. Although it was considered, it was not deemed necessary for Jones to have to pass an extended retest to regain his licence.
