CARDIGAN Swimming Pool have announced that last year’s successful Swimathon - poised to return on Saturday, March 9 - will become an annual event.
This year’s event, which will be held from 7am to 7pm, has set swimmers the challenging target of completing 156,200m.
“Following the major work undertaken to install new equipment and an unbelievable run of bad luck, Cardigan Swimming Pool and Leisure Complex is now open for business as usual,” a spokesperson told the Tivyside.
“Both pools are fully open and the temperature in the building is now toasty!”
“Parents and grandparents can get tea, coffee or cake for a small charge whilst they watch the swimathon.
“It is also your opportunity to meet and chat with members of the Friends of the Pool who are looking to raise matchfunding this year for grant applications.
“The Friends are hoping to run a number of events this year, including quizzes, treasure hunts, skittles and much more.
“We hope that by introducing family activities such as skittles and a treasure hunt, things that all generations can do together, you will join us to support the pool to buy those little extras that improve your experience when you visit. Not just in the pool but also when hiring either the hall or meeting room.
“We hope to see you soon at one of our events. Please keep an eye on the Friends Facebook page for more information.”
Swimathon entry fees are £10 for adults and £1 for children.
