A WOMAN has been banned from phoning 999 apart from in genuine emergencies after repeatedly making nuisance calls.
Sandra Evans, 52, of Mount Walk in Lampeter, appeared at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court charged with persistently making use of a public communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety.
It was alleged that Evans repeatedly made nuisance 999 calls in Lampeter on December 20.

She pleaded guilty to the offence in court on February 7, and was sentenced to an 18-month community order. As part of this, she must complete 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
Evans was made subject to a two-year criminal behaviour order, which bans her from making 999 calls unless in a genuine emergency. She must also give her name, date of birth and location when contacting the emergency services, and must also not be found drunk in a public place.
She was also fined £200 and must pay £85 in costs.
