TWO landlords from Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn been fined for not being correctly registered.
Gerwyn Richards, 67, of Aberteifi, admitted one charge at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 8.
He admitted that on March 30, 2023, he was the landlord of a property in Cardigan which was the subject of a domestic tenancy. He admitted that he was the point of contact for the tenants for any matters under the tenancy but he was not registered to do so under Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014.
He was ordered to pay £396 fine, £158 surcharge and £270 costs.
Brian David Kilsby, 52, of New Road, Newcastle Emlyn, admitted one charge at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 8.
He admitted that on May 5, he was the landlord of a property in Newcastle Emlyn which was subject to a domestic tenancy and he collected rent unlawfully because he was not licensed to do so under Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014.
He was ordered to pay £377 fine, £151 surcharge and £200 costs.
