CARDIGAN Swimming Pool has now re-opened although ongoing works mean the hydrotherapy pool area still remains closed for the time being.
During last month’s AGM Chair of trustees Matt Newland said that as far as the pool’s future was concerned, it was very much a case of ‘use it or lose it’.
Now, to mark what is hoped to be its last closure following major repair work the pool are offering special discounts for those taking out annual membership.
“We want to thank the Cardigan and surrounding areas communities for standing by us during the last year, as we have been stretched to the limit due to breakdowns of old machinery,” the pool said in a statement.
“We are all too aware that everybody is finding it harder to make ends meet, so we felt that to offer generous discounts would be a good way to let people keep exercising and having fun whilst saving money.
“We look forward to seeing you at the pool soon.
“We also want to promote our sports hall and meeting room available to hire at very reasonable rates.
“Are you a volunteer organisation looking for somewhere to meet? Maybe you are a personal trainer looking for somewhere to meet your clients?
“Maybe you teach yoga or dance, Pilates or exercise classes but need somewhere to hold your classes?
“We may be able to help you. Remember there is a large car park outside that is free to use after 6pm.
“Maybe you train toddlers’ football teams and are looking for somewhere warm and dry over the winters? We may be able to help you at very reasonable rates.
“Pop in or telephone and talk to our manager Katie Proven.
“Until January 31, if you sign up for a year, we are offering the following: Swim only: £25 per month (normally £30 per month) – a saving of £60 over the year. Gym and swim: £40 per month (normally £48 a month) – a saving of £96 per year.
