CEREDIGION MP Ben Lake swapped the corridors of Westminster for a walk down a church aisle with his new bride Elin James Jones last week, the Tivyside can reveal.
The happy couple were married at Llanfihangel Ystrad Church in Felinfach on Saturday, December 9 and their reception was held at Llanarth.
The surprise wedding was only made public in a Facebook post by the groom himself on Saturday.
It is understood that Mr Lake and his new wife are currently on honeymoon.
Lampeter-born Mr Lake, 30, who is known to be fiercely protective of his private life, is a former pupil of Ysgol Bro Pedr in his home town.
After graduating from Trinity College, Oxford, with an undergraduate degree in History and Politics, and a master's degree in Modern British and European History, he became a research officer in the National Assembly of Wales.
He won the Ceredigion constituency seat for Plaid Cymru in 2017 at the age of 24, ousting Liberal Democrat Mark Williams with 29 per cent of the overall vote, and subsequently increased his majority in the General Election of 2019.
