THESE six defendants have had their cases heard in court recently.

The defendants have been accused of speeding, careless driving, damaging a police cell, and assaulting a PCSO.

Their cases were heard across Llanelli and Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Courts.

Here’s a round-up of their cases.

DANIEL PHILLIPS, 23, of Glynarthen, was caught doing almost double the speed limit in Pencader.

Phillips was clocked by a manned speed camera doing 58mph on the B4459 at Pencader on February 25.

He pleaded guilty, and was fined £328 at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on September 25.

Phillips must also pay £90 in costs and a £131 surcharge, and had six points added to his licence.

ROSANNA LILLEY, 31, of the A482 near Pont Creuddyn, admitted sending a “grossly offensive” message and assaulting an emergency worker.

Lilley was charged with sending an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message on May 27 in Lampeter.

She also faced a charge of assaulting a PCSO, also on the same date and in Lampeter.

She pleaded guilty on August 31.

Lilley was sentenced to a one-year community order at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on October 5, as part of which she must complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement. The sentence was uplifted from a fine to a community order due to one of the offences being against

She was also fined £100, and was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge.

KYLIE MASON, 37, of Cylch Aeron in Aberaeron, damaged a police cell in Aberystwyth.

Mason was charged with criminal damage relating to damage caused to the cell wall at the town’s police station on June 9.

She pleaded guilty, and was ordered to pay £15 in compensation at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court on October 4.

Mason must also pay an £80 fine and £85 in costs.

WAYNE LEWIS, 42, of Little Henfas Drive in Welshpool, loaded timber dangerously in to his Jaguar.

The court heard that Lewis had loaded “several large pieces of timber” in to the back of his car in Llanbadarn Fawr on March 2, which extended 2.46 metres from the boot and were not safely restrained.

The offence was proved using the single justice procedure at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on September 25.

Lewis was fined £220, and was ordered to pay £90 in costs and a surcharge of £88.

LOUISE KINSEY, 32, of Broyan Road in Pen Y Bryn, was caught speeding.

Kinsey was driving an Audi A3 at 43mph on the 30mph A476 at Gorslas on February 27.

She pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on September 25.

Kinsey was fined £313m and was ordered to pay £90 in costs and a £125 surcharge. She had four points added to her licence.

WEDROS JONES, 39, of Penlongwter Road, near Felindre, has denied careless driving and failing to stop.

Jones was accused of driving a Smart Car without due care and attention between Blaenffos and Boncath on April 2.

The defendant also faced a charge of failing to stop when required, after being signalled to pull over by officers on the B4332 on the same day.

Jones pleaded not guilty to both charges at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court on October 4.

The case will return to court on December 12.
