Lovers of choral music will know that when it comes to enjoyable performances, Côr Teifi certainly knows how to raise the roof.

This month, the choir is launching some exciting plans for its future under the leadership of new musical director, Philip Wilson.

As a result the choir is currently recruiting singers for the coming season and welcomes anyone who enjoys singing choral music in a wide range of styles.

The choir meets on Monday evenings, between 7pm and 9pm at Capel Mair, with the first rehearsal taking place next week on September 11.

“We’re very much looking forward to meeting new singers and welcoming them to come along to a few of our rehearsals before making any commitment,” said Philip Wilson.

Their autumn concert has been scheduled for November 25 which will include a small band of professional players who will accompany them in a performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria.

In addition there will be some smaller pieces including Bob Chilcott’s iconic arrangement of Billy Joel’s 'And So it Goes', the popular evergreen 'Nwy yn y Nen' by Dewi Morris, a version of 'Wayfaring Stranger' by Alun Rhys Williams who is a member of the choir, the wonderful 'O Magnum Mysterium' by Morten Lauridsen and a short Bulgarian song.
