A CEREDIGION woman has avoided a driving ban after being caught speeding twice on the same stretch of road in just over two weeks.
Samantha Smith, 49, of Rhydowen, was caught speeding twice on the westbound M4 at Port Talbot on December 4 and 20 last year.
Smith’s Skoda Fabia was caught by the 50mph average speed cameras doing 60mph on both occasions.
She pleaded guilty at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on May 17.
For each offence, Smith was fined £100 and must pay £90 in costs. She must also pay an £80 surcharge.
Smith was handed three points for each speeding offence. She avoided a driving ban despite accumulating too many points, as losing her licence would leave her isolated and unable to get to work.
