After being crowned a national boxing champion, Claire Lloyd, a year 7 pupil at Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron has had another big week.
Competing at the Urdd Eistedfordd in Llandovery, Claire won both the harp contest and the piano contest in the year 7, 8 and 9 bracket.
The standard was very high and Claire was overjoyed to win the Urdd musical double.
Claire would like to thank her piano teacher Jenny Frost and her harp teacher Meinir Heulyn for their continued help and support.
Last week, The Tivy-Side reported that Claire had helped Cardigan ABC take their tally of current Welsh boxing champions to five by winning gold at the Welsh Minor and Schools championships at Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens.
Claire and her sibling Ianto Lloyd seized the schoolgirl 36kg and schoollboy 54kg titles respectively.
Claire rounded off an impressive season with a unanimous decision over Kyla Edwards (Gwyfi ABC).
The pair had met before in the Western Division Box Cup with the Cardigan girl taking a unanimous points decision.
Ianto proceeded to produce a polished technical display against Kayden Powell (Gilfach Goch).
