A MAN exposed his genitals and a woman committed burglary on the same day they both committed a host of offences.

Jack Furness and Mercedes Hogsevedt, both of Penrheidol in Penparcau, appeared at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday.

The pair faced several charges, all from February 12 last year in Llanddewi Brefi.

Furness, 38, admitted exposing his genitals, but denied assaulting a man occasioning actual bodily harm on that date.

Hogsevedt, 32, admitted burglary from a property on Penuwch Street and destroying a bay tree and a pot.

Both defendants admitted a charge of destroying property – referring to a planter.

Ian Ibrahim, representing Furness, said about the assault charge that the complainant had “exaggerated what happened” and had come at his client with a broken beer bottle, causing him to act “in self-defence”.

Brian Simpson, prosecuting, said the Crown Prosecution Service would seek a trial on the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Judge Geraint Walters asked Mr Simpson and Mr Ibrahim to consider whether an alternative plea would be acceptable.

Both defendants were released on bail, and will be back in court on May 3.
